The Project
The purpose of the Cape Fear Scottish Immigration Memorial Project is to develop and promote Scottish heritage throughout the Cape Fear region and the State of North Carolina. Our initial objective was to sponsor and fund a Scottish Immigration Memorial in the Cape Fear.

While the primary purpose of the memorial is to acknowledge the contributions of the Scots, the Celtic culture represented by the memorial is celebrated in many countries around the world, including Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany, Galicia, Portugal, and the Celtic Diaspora around the world.

With the completion of that phase of the Project, we turn our focus to the North Carolina Scottish Trek. The Trek will be available as an interactive Story Map, with memorial plaques posted at locations of Scottish-American significance from the Cape Fear and up into the mountains, celebrating all of North Carolina's Scottish immigrants.

The Project provides both technical and informational expertise to support other organizations or municipalities interested in establishing their own Scottish Heritage programs.
